Equipment

  • 1 mixing spoon
  • measuring spoons
  • heatproof mugs
  • tea kettle or pot

Ingredients
  

  • 4 oz bourbon whiskey
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • lemon slices + cinnamon sticks to garnish

Instructions
 

  • Heat 2½ cups of water on the stove or electric kettle until boiling
  • While the water is coming up to a boil divide and add the ground cinnamon (optional), lemon juice, bourbon and honey in that order to the bottom of two heat proof mugs. Stir together with a spoon until the cinnamon is evenly distributed.
  • Once the water has come to a boil, pour into each glass over the top of the cinnamon, lemon, honey mixture. Allow to sit for a minute or so to warm the honey. Stir together until honey has dissolved. Serve garnished with lemon wedges and cinnamon sticks.
