I don’t know a lot about a lot, but I do know it’s Friday and it’s freezing outside! Surviving both the cold and the first work week of 2022 calls for a hot cocktail. A bourbon hot toddy, to be specific. You may be noticing a theme with bourbon cocktails here on HIH. My Kentucky Espresso Martini post is one of the top posts from 2021. Bourbon has long been my spirit of choice, so I’d expect the HIH cocktail catalog to be bourbon centric.
To me, a hot toddy is the perfect Winter cocktail. My bourbon hot toddy is strong, warm, and just sweet enough to go down easy to help you relax and thaw out after a long day in the cold weather. My Dad likes to request one (or two) when he’s got a little bit of a tickle in his throat.
It’s Friday, if you’re like me you’ve read enough emails and documents, you don’t need to read a long anecdotal blog post on all the reasons I love this cocktail. You just want to get to the business of happy hour! So with out further ado, here is my go to bourbon hot toddy recipe! Oh, and a link to the adorable and very reasonably priced Waterford crystal mug dupes!
Cheers!
